Administrative Law

We have been involved in administrative law from negotiations to resolution of agency findings, from requests for assistance to administrative appeals. We have participated in several Interior Board of Indian Appeals cases, including NEPA review, enrollment disputes, and cancellation of easements. We have successfully aided in resolution of federal agency findings of noncompliance as well as resolution of Inspector General audits. Our experience includes working with the National Indian Gaming Commission (ordinances, management contract, MICS) and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (land into trust and revenue allocation plans [per capita]), litigation requests, and compact approvals. Recently, we were involved with resolution of three Housing and Urban Development monitoring reviews, one Health and Human Services review, and one state welfare agency inquiry. We have successfully negotiated with state and federal agencies on environmental standards and review, employment issues, mortgage guarantee approvals, and development of memoranda of understanding.
